The SafeNut project was approved in March 2006 by the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF), a joint iniciative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the World Bank, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), within the framework of STDF Theme 2: "Capacity building for public and private organizations, notably with respect to market access". Final workshop of the STDF Safenut project "Effective aflatoxin management in the Brazil nut production chain for recovering and consolidating export markets", 6-7 November 2008, hotel Beira Rio, Belém, Para state, Brazil.

- Preliminary Program

Objectives: Disseminate and report all the results and conclusions generated by the project to the regional and international community, and discuss how these results can be incorporated into the Brazil nut production chain for improving product quality and regaining European market.

With a poster session related to the theme "Prevention and Control of Brazil Nut Contamination by Aflatoxins". -

Training course in simple and rapid method for aflatoxin analysis in Brazil nuts, 5 November 2008, Belém, Para State, Brazil.
